Emtech, while young in company age, makes up for this, in the experience of its
personnel. The company was formed when the directors previous employer restructured
and refocused away from the marine space. This provided the opportunity to offer
a specialised and focused Engineering and Marine Consultancy with efficiency, while
maintaining a higher level of quality and service.
The company specialises in Harbour and Coastal Engineering, marinas for small crafts,
general marine services and including offshore moorings and pipelines and naval
architecture, including ship surveys and maintenance, together with all related
shore installations.
Emtech has the experience and resources to undertake design, engineering, budgetary
control and management of coastal, harbour and marine engineering and naval architecture
projects.
As with the Harbour & Coastal Engineering outlined above, Emtech’s expertise
and experience extend to the onshore and port facilities.
These include wharf sheds, cargo cranes, mobile equipment container terminals, container cranes, hard standing and manoeuvring areas, access roads, reclaiming earthworks, firefighing water supplies and drainage to bulk LPG and petroleum depots.
The firm is also expert in shipyard construction and equipment, slipways and launching ramps, roll-on/roll-off facilities and harbour side service buildings, including offices and workshops. As with marine work, the firm will handle environmental and planning procedures and manage the project from conception to completion.
Our Consultancy Service
Emtech offers a comprehensive service which encompasses coastal and harbour engineering,
ships and floating plant. Experience and skills extend from concept design proposals
to project management and commissioning and include contract documentation, tender
evaluation, contract administration and full liaison with the client at all stages
of the project.
Beyond the commissioning stages, Emtech Limited will advise on operational and maintenance procedures and on survey requirements where applicable.

Emtech offers advice based on extensive past experience on harbours, wharves,
jetties, breastworks, coastal works, small craft marinas, outfalls, dredging and
offshore structures. In addition the design, supervision and commissioning of new
works, the company will advise on the status, suitability and maintenance of existing
works. The services extend to arranging hydro graphic surveys, soils and foundation
investigation and environmental studies. We also have the expertise to manage environmental
impact reporting and the preparation of applications for consents and approvals
and their presentation to planning and appeal authorities. With its present resources
and past experience, Emtech is able to manage a shipping, harbour or coastal project
through all or any of its stages from initial conception to commissioning and handing
over to the client.
